1. Parent - One son at Spotswood High School and one at Blue Ridge Community College. Two sons have already graduated from Spotswood and using their high school diploma to be productive community members. 2. Volunteer in the Schools - The past 20 years I have served on multiple committees and organizations while our children attended Rockingham County Schools, including:

3. Active Community Member - As a resident in District 5, I have had the pleasure of hosting a variety of activities and community engagement events such as neighborhood Christmas parties, which has a live nativity, Mrs. Claus reading the Christmas story, and many other fun Christmas time activities; other open to the community activities I’ve hosted include: Easter Egg Hunts, Harvest Parties, July 4th Block Party, and Back to School Bashes. ALL because I care deeply about the families in my community. 4. Leadership Experience - I have served the Commonwealth of Virginia for the past 20 years by leading many professional committees, managing multiple budgets and high profile facilities, and organizing hiring committees that have supported the mission and vision of my workplace. 5. Earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Mennonite University in Leadership, Management and Organizational Development.
Earned a Masters of Education degree from James Madison University focusing on administration and leadership in higher education with several courses in graduate psychology.
Participated in many leadership courses that trained me on how to lead a team towards accomplishing shared goals.
Experienced and uniquely qualified Christian individual that aligns with the values of Rockingham county.
6. Business Savvy - My husband and I have operated two other small businesses concurrently. Together we had to advocate for funding, negotiate contracts, and constantly adjust to the changing environments around us. My work and volunteer experiences have given me many opportunities to negotiate challenging deals, develop and follow budgets, navigate difficult conversations, and successfully create an environment that is conducive to productivity and achieving objectives.
